Paro Taktsang, famously known as the Tiger's Nest, is a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex located on the cliffside of the upper Paro Valley in Bhutan. Perched approximately 900 meters above the valley floor, this iconic monastery was built in 1692 around the cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated. It is Bhutan's most recognized cultural landmark, accessible via a scenic but challenging mountain hike through pine forests adorned with prayer flags.
