Kigali / Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda is one of Africa's premier wildlife destinations, renowned as a haven for rare and endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. The park encompasses five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains, offering visitors an immersive experience in pristine natural landscapes. Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park is situated in northwestern Rwanda and protects the steep slopes of the magnificent Virunga mountain range. Spanning 160 square kilometers of montane rainforest and bamboo, the park is famous as one of the last remaining sanctuaries for the endangered mountain gorilla and was the primary research site for primatologist Dian Fossey. The landscape is dominated by five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga chain, offering dramatic scenery and rich biodiversity including the rare golden monkey.

Volcanoes National Park is a stunning protected area in northern Rwanda, straddling the borders with Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
